While reading an article about the top reason talent leaves an organization, I ran across a paragraph that embodies part of what we are trying to accomplish with Ascend Profiles and personality profiling for “best fit.” The paragraph reads: Create an organization where those who manage others are hired for their ability to manage well and supported to get even better at managing. Many times, people get promoted into a management role because they are the top performer in their group. Often, their personality and behaviors don’t match the desired personality and behaviors of the manager job. This can be frustrating for everyone. We recommend you identify a success profile for each open position and match candidates to the position.
